Chocolate
It is winter now and we all need hot chocolate to resist the cold. I am not very font of this season but there is one advantage of the winter: it is time for (hot) chocolate. And during Xmas holiday’s my kids like the same. This time we went to Quetzal. A chocolate company at the Voorstraat in Delft. It has not been there for so long (about a year) so it is good to mention this place as it is child friendly and for my coeliac son a chocolate heaven
Gluten free
You might think that chocolate is always gluten free, very often it is but last time when I visited another chocolate company with the kids, the waiter was quite annoyed when I asked him about gluten free food and at the end my son could only choose one option…
At Quetzal the opposite happened. Coeliac people are welcome and there is a lot to choose from. Freak shakes can be made gluten free, there is a delicious cake, a chocolate fondue, a madeleine (French little cake) can be ordered without gluten but with Belgian chocolate and there is a ‘chocolate progres’ cake. They prepare gluten free orders on a different counter so the cross contamination will hardly occur.
Child friendly
Quetzal is a cosy place. It has a diner like interior with warm red and brown colors. You cannot see it from the outside but the place is large. You can place a buggy or baby wagon inside. There are also toys for the little ones. It is really child friendly and the owners give you a warm welcome.
Well, I found a new place in town to have a break with the kids.
I hope you will enjoy it too!
