Since I have a smartphone with a great camera lens, I hardly use my Olympus OMD camera. My phone makes me a lazy photographer, so when I take pictures for the Instagram account of Exloringdelft, I am not always proud of the results. I do not have the intention to make good and interesting pictures, I started it to show others what’s interesting in Delft, but still, I think I can do much better (did I mention I attended art school once?)
So when I came across the Instagram account of Delft Phototours and when I saw the very nice pictures the account has, I got interested and sent a message to Mandy, the owner.
I suggested the idea that I would have a photowalk so I could improve my pictures and I could write about the tour on this blog. So after some arrangements I was in a group of 6 ladies on a sunny Sunday morning tour through Delft.
The photo tour
Before we started walking, Mandy showed us examples of nice pictures and explained us why these pictures looked interesting. We got a paper with al kinds of suggestions of photos we could take and then we started walking. The tour takes 1,5 hours and leads you through very nice parts of Delft. I even discovered a small courtyard I did not know yet.
The group was nice, we wanted to make the best shots! Mandy is very patient and she gives suggestions if you need them. If you like photography or not, the tour is fun to do. You walk around Delft en because of the focus of the walk you see your environment from a different perspective. So it is not only interesting for tourists, I also saw ‘new’ interesting details. After the walk I got the feeling I have to do this more often on my own.
You can book the tour at Airbnb. At the website you can see some nice examples.
Combine it with your stay in Delft at my home in Delft!
